The Call to Deep Rest

Deep Rest:

Yoga Nidra, and a Sound bath are our invitation to rest.

Winter asks something of us that our culture rarely honors: to slow down, soften, release, and let parts of ourselves “die off” so we can begin again in spring. It’s a season that mirrors both grief and renewal — a natural descent inward. Yet the holidays often pull us in the opposite direction, into overstimulation, obligation, emotional labor, and a pace our nervous systems weren’t designed to maintain. This is why practices that support deep, intentional rest become not only helpful, but essential.

Deep Rest: Yoga Nidra & Sound Bath is our invitation to pause. This practice guides the mind into restorative brainwave states that shift the body out of stress response (fight, flight, freeze, fawn) and into parasympathetic repair, where true rest and digestion can occur. Research shows it can lower cortisol, improve sleep, ease emotional overwhelm, and create space for clarity—especially during seasons of transition, grief, or heightened stress. Through guided meditation and breathwork, Yoga Nidra brings you into a state of “yogic sleep” or “conscious sleeping,” where the mind stays alert, the body rests, and the brain shifts from fast beta processing into slower alpha, theta, and even delta waves—the neurological signatures of deep relaxation and inner calm.

Braided into this experience is a therapeutic sound bath, where vibrational frequencies from instruments like singing bowls, drums, and chimes help gently regulate the nervous system through frequency entrainment — the body’s natural tendency to sync with steady external rhythms. These sounds aren’t just heard (though they offer a steady focal point for the mind); they’re conducted through the skin, fascia, and fluid-filled tissues, allowing the vibrations to reach the body on a deeper, cellular level. This creates a subtle but tangible downshift in tension, breath, and internal pacing — a physiological easing that beautifully complements the restorative effects of Yoga Nidra.

Deep Rest is crafted as a reset — a gentle recalibration for the body and mind. This gathering is for anyone feeling overstimulated, reflective, uncertain, curious, or ready to move into the new year with a steadier inner foundation.

This pop-up event will be guided by our very own, Kelsey Sabo – a trauma nurse, yoga and healing facilitator, and sound healing practitioner whose work bridges science and spirit. Kelsey creates grounded, heart-forward spaces where all bodies and abilities are welcomed exactly as they are, unapologetically. Her approach centers safety, softness, and nervous-system awareness, offering participants permission to rest without performance, expectation, or judgment. Come as you are — tired, hopeful, grieving, curious, or anything in-between — and allow this practice to meet you where you are. You are welcome here.
