horses have been a part of human culture for millennia. and so, you can imagine it. the energy of a band of horses running wild and free. the spirit of a man on a horse. the drive and determination. the momentum. the passion. the speed. the breakthrough.
and so too has fire. the most transformative tool we have. literally the spark that propelled humanity toward where we are today. with the power to create and destroy.
welcome to the year of the yang fire horse. this lunar new year marks the transition from a very yin, inward and personal wood snake year to a very yang, very passionate and very collective fire horse year. the yin wood of the previous year has become the kindling to ignite the fire of 2026. the snake year asked us to not only to shed but to integrate. to digest our experiences and integrate the learnings. to dig deep into our core to uncover our values. and to do the inner work of letting go of habits, mindsets, relationships, identities that no longer serve or are no longer aligned. it was a year of becoming that felt circuitous and probably showed up in different ways for each of us.
now, the fire horse asks us to step back out. to put our money where our mouth is. to act on what we discovered and uncovered about ourselves. to mount our horses, join a band, and ride out. ride toward. to begin to build a world that is more aligned with what we uncovered during the year of the snake. the snake asked us to slow down and tend, the horse tells us it’s time to move. the snake took us inward on a personal and solitary mission, but the horse energy needs the collective to thrive. this year, the horse is going to take us all somewhere. and the fire is going to make it intense. we will need each other to make it through, to drive progress forward, and to change our world. now is the time to band together.
