Christen Schritter

My name is Christen and I’ve been teaching in Baltimore since 2012. I am a mother, a yogi, queer, and neurodivergent. I bring my whole self to the mat and the communities I serve, believing that yoga is resistance and that finding peace in our bodies is one of the most radical acts we can offer ourselves. I’m passionate about making yoga accessible for all people and aim to help students build practices that last a lifetime, offering tools for comfort, resilience, and longevity.

I consider myself a student first and a teacher second. Svadhyaya, or self-study, remains a guiding principle of my practice. My first teacher training was at Charm City Yoga in 2010, and since then I’ve completed over 950 hours of training along the East Coast, including YogaWorks, Kripalu, Lotus Palm, Pranakriya (Prenatal), and most recently Katonah Yoga.

I live in Baltimore County with my partner, my three kids, and a menagerie of animals. Outside of teaching I enjoy hiking, bike riding, cooking, knitting, reading, gardening, and spending time with friends. At the end of the day, I’m a regular human being doing my best in the world.
