Val Kuehne

Val(erie) Kuehne (she/they) is a cellist/performance artist turned Yoga Teacher, Sound Alchemist, and Harm Reduction Advocate. Val was first exposed to the physical practice of Yoga in 2009 while living in NYC but kept it intermittent and fitness based until her life turned upside down and the only door left to open was the one that led back to the mat. Since then, Val has voraciously explored practices directed towards regulating the nervous system and is passionate about sharing her findings with the community at large (and more specifically with individuals who are neurodivergent and/or struggling with addiction). Her classes are immersive journeys that take practitioners around the mat and into spaces for introspection & transformation by incorporating breathwork, meditation, metaphor, music, philosophy, and sound healing. She believes that ultimately these practices resonate in such a way as to create safety, stability, and the ability to truly be present in this vibratory experience we call life. When she isn’t teaching, you will likely find her at workshops (as a student) or selling vintage clothes. She has over 500 hours of formal training under her belt, including a 200 hr certification from Yoga Union in Baltimore. She currently studies Sound Healing via The Alchemy of Sound.
